Northeast Tour

Madeira Northeast Tour includes a visit to the São Vicente Caves and covers the center and eastern part of the northern side of the island.
This full day tour is offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Starting off from Funchal, we head off directly to the Caves of São Vicente. The guided tour of the caves is about an hour long and entrance to the caves is included in the price. We then make our way along a scenic northern side of the island that is rarely scene by tourists. We visit the villages of Ponta Delgada, Boaventura, Cabanas, São Jorge until we reach Santana. Each of these villages we visit, have something unique to offer. Santana is famous for its A-framed cottages with their thatched roofs and beautiful gardens. Our next stop is the village of Faial where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we visit the village of Ponta da Cruz before making our way to the most eastern part of the island, Ponta de São Lourenço. At a viewpoint we can see both the south side and the north side of the island as well as the island Porto Santo. Our last stop will be the second biggest town of Madeira, Machico, before making our way back to Funchal.
